Bann and Carr/Mackintosh/Plumb

Bidh an cuirm sònraichte Bann, air a stiùireadh le Brìghde Chaimbeul, a’ comharrachadh dualchas Gàidhealach na h-Alba, na h-Èireann agus Eilean Mhanainn tro cheòl air leth bho bhoireannaich agus fòcas sònraichte air pìobaireachd.

Bann - meaning bond, tie and the ferule of a bagpipe - is a new collaboration curated by acclaimed piper and Gaelic speaker Brìghde Chaimbeul. Featuring Louise Mulcahy (uilleann pipes), Isla Callister (fiddle) and Kirsty-Ann McInnes (Gaelic song), this commission unites the Gaelic heritage of Scotland, Ireland, and the Isle of Man through the musicianship of exceptional women - with a special focus on piping. Originally commissioned by Eden Court Highlands and The National Piping Centre, Bann has captivated audiences with two sold-out shows at Under Canvas and Piping Live!.

15 years in the plotting, Carr/Mackintosh/Plumb, known for their gleeful boundary pushing and exploration with traditional musics are finally working on new music together. Promoting an album recorded raw and unedited in Sweden in 2024, this is edge of the seat traditional and traditional inspired melodies pushed by the freedom to listen and improvise from three masters of their craft.
