In this unique concert, five of Scotland’s most acclaimed folk song performers join forces with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for newly commissioned arrangements classic Scots folk songs and ballads.
KARINE POLWART, known for her profound, politically resonant folk narratives and spellbinding voice; KRIS DREVER whose distinctive, melancholy baritone defines modern Scottish folk; EMILY SMITH who brings luminous vocals and a deep reverence for traditional songs to the stage; FIONA HUNTER celebrated for her vocal clarity and deep knowledge of her craft; and LORI WATSON a multi-talented fiddler and vocalist whose insight redefines the cultural depth of Scottish music. They join a house-band and conductor/arranger GREG LAWSON for a compelling night of traditional song and symphonic majesty.
