Chisholm, Mcgoldrick, O'Connor & Byrne and Support

Four master musicians from Scotland and Ireland come together for a performance where tradition, creativity and virtuosity meet in thrilling harmony. Audiences can expect a rich tapestry of sound, from Duncan Chisholm’s soaring, cinematic fiddle melodies to Michael McGoldrick’s expressive flute, whistle and uilleann pipes, all woven together with Gerry O’Connor’s dazzling banjo work and Tony Byrne’s finely crafted guitar accompaniment.

The music moves effortlessly between driving reels, beautifully textured airs and moments of quiet reflection, revealing the depth and character of four distinct musical voices in conversation. Rather than a showcase of individual talents, this is a genuine collaboration, where shared musical instincts create something fresh, dynamic and deeply rooted in the traditions of both countries. The atmosphere is likely to shift from spirited and exhilarating to intimate and contemplative in the space of a single tune.

For folk music lovers, this special Celtic Connections gathering offers a rare chance to experience four celebrated artists creating music in the moment together.
