Ciaran Ryan with Pumpegris
Known for his work with Dallahan, Shooglenifty and countless other artists spanning the last fifteen years, multi-instrumentalist Ciaran Ryan marks a new chapter in his career with the launch of his third solo album Kick Up the Dust, showcasing his most personal and introspective work to date.
Entirely self written, the album reflects a return to his Irish music foundations - a deep reconnection with the tunes and traditions that first shaped his musical voice. Ciaran will reunite the powerhouse band that helped bring his 2025 “New Voices” commission to life: Tom Callister (fiddle), Ryan Murphy (flute/uilleann pipes), Luc McNally (bouzouki), Amy Laurenson (piano), Craig Baxter (bodhran) and Greg Barry (drums).
Pumpegris is a folk-fusion band that playfully mixes the old and new, the humorous and serious. Heavily inspired by Norwegian folk music, West African music, shoegaze, and the singer-songwriter genre, they create pop music with a focus on groove, incorporating Norwegian traditional dance tunes and witty yet bittersweet lyrics.
