Common Ground

A new dance triple bill, celebrating the wealth of traditional dance styles across the Commonwealth. Common Ground includes a solo by virtuoso percussive dancer Nic Gareiss; new work performed by an ensemble of Commonwealth dancers led by Scottish Ballet's associate choreographer Nicholas Shoesmith and dance artist Sotirios Panagoulias; and a second performance of Drift, a thought-provoking piece choreographed by Scottish Ballet’s First Artist Madeline Squire. Drift is about rising sea levels, overfishing, and the impact of this on the world’s Small Island Developing States.

Common Ground is commissioned, curated and produced by the Traditional Dance Forum of Scotland, as part of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Festival.
