Daniel Carroll — Organ Recital
Daniel Carroll is a 22-year-old organist currently studying at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, the most selective music conservatory in the world. He arrives in Glasgow having won prizes at the Taylor National Organ Competition in Atlanta and the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition in Armagh.
Taking full advantage of the cathedral's pipe organ (built in 1879), Daniel Carroll fuses pieces from his homeland with reflections from his time studying in France. Fire and energy characterise a programme that is also packed with sensitivity and expression—also featuring a solo singer at points.
This concert is part of Cathedral Keys 2026, a summer series at Glasgow Cathedral featuring three international musicians. The suggested donation is £10, with proceeds shared between the artist and Glasgow Cathedral's organ restoration fund.
