Domniq: Aguas da Amazonia by Philip Glass
DOMNIQ’s Águas da Amazônia reimagines Philip Glass’s iconic river-inspired masterpiece as a stunning contemporary performance experience. Expanding on Glass’s original score for Brazilian ensemble Uakti, Dutch Music Prize winner DOMNIQ combines new compositions, self-built instruments, electronics and immersive light design to create a rich musical journey through the Amazon basin.
Performed by an ensemble of percussion, flute and strings, this powerful interpretation blends hypnotic minimalism with vivid natural textures and rhythmic energy. The result is a captivating sound world that honours the spirit of Glass’s celebrated work while charting an ambitious and imaginative new course.
