Donald Grant (fiddle) and Fergus McCreadie (piano) return to Celtic Connections, performing as a duo at the festival for the first time. Donald - steeped in Gaelic tradition and a longtime collaborator across folk, chamber, and contemporary music - pairs with Fergus, whose multi-award-winning piano playing has redefined how jazz and Scottish folk can meet.
Expect an open-hearted offering of tunes and new material that honour tradition while bending it through contemporary arrangement, improvisation, and spontaneous interplay.
