The errant Floridian, currently based between Athens and Berlin, is known in some circles for his solo forays in lofi noir; in others for his longstanding collaborations with Blaine L. Reininger, Mick Harvey and Amanda Acevedo; and in yet others for his sentence as multi-instrumentalist in Crime & the City Solution.
Valentino returns to Scotland in November to promote his CD compilation, Devenir Imperceptible (download). The singer and guitarist’s Scottish ties, forged over years of travel and collaboration, are evident in the composition his touring band, which features Glasgow-based musicians Gavin Fraser on bass and Ross Wilson on drums, as well as Edinburgh’s pioneering postpunk guitarist, Malcolm Ross (Josek K, Orange Juice, Aztec Camera).
