About the Workshop Leader
Helen Gould MBE is a dance artist and Co-Director of LPM Dance, a dance company based in the North West of England.
Helen has more than 20 years experience delivering inclusive dance opportunities for people with different abilities. She is particularly interested in the role that music and imagery play within inclusive dance contexts and has presented research and led workshops in this field nationally and internationally.
Helen co-founded LPM Dance with George Adams in 2013, since then the company has developed an impressive track record for bringing high-quality dance experiences to communities in Lancashire who would otherwise have little or no access to creative arts and movement opportunities. Their work includes weekly community classes, festivals, shows and artist training programmes.
About the Workshop
A playful inclusive workshop exploring music, imagery and synchronicity through music, creative tasks, and improvisation.
Guided with care and curiosity, Rhythmic Playground offers space play with how music influences the dynamic quality, amplitude and sensation of movement. Using an eclectic playlist we will explore, synchronicity, imagination and improvisation through creative tasks and shared movement.
Aims of the Workshop
How music and sound can shape the way we move, feel and connect, both individually and as part of a group.
