LayLow & GJF Presents: MADELEINE

An emerging player in the nu-jazz and UK soul scene, MADELEINE is a singer,
songwriter and producer taking influence from the progressive electronics of Flying
Lotus and Salami Rose Joe Louis. With support already from The Line of Best Fit, BBC
Radio 1, BBC Introducing and Jazz FM, and an appearance at 2025's SXSW under her
belt, she's also a celebrated session musician, having toured the world as
keyboardist for the likes of Olivia Dean, Jorja Smith, and Rachel Chinouriri.
Her latest offering Earth Cry is an exploration of future soul through the lens of
Londons electronic-influenced sound waves, marrying poignant songwriting with
carefully moulded soundscapes and an ear for groove. Providing a snapshot of her
ever-developing artistic voice, the project crafts a sound world complete with
expertly moulded synthscapes and soulful electronica.
Thematically, Earth Cry picks up where her last EP - 2023's Sun Daughter
- left off, acting as a cry for planet Earth and exploring the idea of returning what is given,
restoration and balance. The majority of the 6-track EP was self-produced, written,
and arranged by MADELEINE, with some additional production and mixing work by
Lewis Moody (Allysha Joy, 30/70, CHERISE) and Will Heaton (Ebi Soda). This results
in a beautiful body of work, rooted in her own voice and originality.
