Mary Frances Leahy with Ultan O'Brien & Martin Green

Join Mary Frances Leahy as she fuses her Celtic roots with sounds from around the world. Where classical meets jazz and Latin meets folk, Mary Frances has a sound that is uniquely her own. Joined by her brother Michael Leahy and award winning UK musician Tim Edey, you’re in for a world class experience!

County Clare fiddle player Ultan O’Brien (Skippers Alley, Slow Moving Clouds) stands at the forefront of the exciting new-wave of Irish trad. In the spirit of Lankum, The Gloaming and other trailblazing artists of this era, Ultan is firmly rooted in the visceral raw energy of Irish music, whilst pushing against it with contemporary improvisations and extended techniques. His debut album Dancing The Line became an instant phenomenon amongst traditional musicians and at this special Celtic Connections performance audiences will have the chance to experience some of that album live. Joining him is Martin Green of Lau; accordionist, mad scientist, and Ivor Novello winning composer. Expect a beautiful trip into the unknown for this rare experience to see them perform together.
