Minna and Support
Somewhere between British folk and Americana, you'll find Minna. Her smoky voice sits over bright banjo and strummed acoustic guitar. The London-based singer-songwriter writes all of her songs on big adventures. She calls it adventure-folk.
The shows are loose, warm and a little ramshackle, with a feeling of old friends having a great night. The music takes you back to the places that inspired it: the back porch of a wolf sanctuary in Colorado, and the long road from the mountains in the east of Spain to the western Spanish sea.
Between songs come the stories behind them. Living among wolves, the man whose sons go out catching mackerel, a fountain of free wine in the middle of nowhere, and hobbling up and down mountains on a broken foot. The live shows, like the EPs, are about going somewhere and coming back changed. Expect close harmonies, big old choruses and a few good stories.
