Neil Ó Lochlainn’s Cuar

Irish musician and composer Neil Ó Lochlainn (flute/double bass) leads the innovative chamber ensemble Cuar, a group dedicated to exploring composition and improvisation within the framework of Irish traditional music.

Described as a "musical seeker" (The Irish Times), Ó Lochlainn grounds his work in local tradition, but draws influence from Karnatak music, contemporary classical composers, and downtown jazz. With Cuar, he forges a "new post-genre frontier," creating sophisticated and unpredictable acoustic soundworlds that redefine the possibilities of Irish music. The result is a truly authentic, boundary-less style.
