Paranormal Scotland Ltd investigates Provan Hall

Join Paranormal Scotland Ltd as we proudly take you on a paranormal journey to the Medieval Provan Hall in Easterhouse. Provan Hall is well known for its reputation of paranormal activity.

Provan Hall is an A listed medieval building in the heart of Easterhouse. Dating back to the 1470s, it is one of Glasgow's oldest houses. Provan Hall was originally built as a hunting lodge for the bishops of Glasgow and is believed by some to date back even further than the Provand's Lordship built in 1471. King James IV would visit with his friend Bishop Robert Blackadder (later Archbishop) to hunt on the grounds. Provan Hall was home to many powerful figures over the years and entertained visitors such as Mary Queen of Scots and her father King James V. Provan Hall survived through many violent times such as the civil war and reformation, so it is likely that small skirmishes may have happened around Provan Hall.

Provan Hall and the R.M.S Titanic. Harold Sydney Bride was a live-in caretaker in the 1950s and was also a wireless operator on the RMS Titanic.

The ghosts of Provan Hall

The master bedroom of Provan Hall House is believed to be haunted by the ghost of a man who returned after two years at war to find his wife had had a child. In his rage he stabbed his wife and slit the child's throat in the master bedroom. Their spirits have been seen cowering in fear in the hall, perhaps reliving the final moments before their death.

Reston Mather the last private owner to live in Provan Hall has been spotted on a number of occasions at the house. His spirit has been seen mainly on the staircase wearing all black with a bowler hat and a white beard. Reston Mather died at Provan Hall in 1934 from breathing difficulties.

William Baillie is believed to haunt Provan Hall. It is rumoured that William Baillie had an affair with Mary Queen of Scots while she was a guest at Provan Hall.

The upper floor of Provan Hall House is said to be haunted by the ghosts of a woman and a young boy who lost their lives there. Their faces have been seen peering from the windows of the upper floor.

Furniture moving by unseen hands, light anomalies, disembodied voices, footsteps and full apparitions are just some of the phenomena that has been reported at Provan Hall.
