Paranormal Scotland Ltd Investigates The Pearce Institute, Govan.

The history and the ghosts

The Pearce Institute

Designed by Sir Rowand Anderson construction began in 1902 and was completed in 1906 in the style of a large 17th century Scottish town house. The Pearce Institute also known as "PI" is a Category ‘A’ listed building in recognition of its national and international importance. The Institute was gifted to the working men and women of Govan by Lady Dinah Pearce in memory of her late husband, Sir William Pearce MP. Sir William Pearce was the first Member of Parliament for Govan and the manager of Fairfield Shipyards. Under the guidance and management of Sir William Pearce the Fairfield shipyards became the biggest and probably the most technically advanced shipyard in the world at the time.

This community hub, which has served the people of Govan since 1906, is thought to be haunted by Lady Dinah Pearce, who bestowed it upon the community.

In the Billiard room, people have reported seeing the image of a man, wearing a dark suit and a hat lurking in the corner, seemingly watching everything and everyone. Some even say they've seen him whispering to himself, as if he's plotting something sinister.

Strange occurrences have been reported at McLeod Hall. A night watchman fled the building when the disconnected pipe organ began playing on its own.

A mysterious figure has been seen darting across the main entrance foyer, where the lights flicker and the taps in the café area turn on and refuse to turn off.

The apparition of what is believed to be Lady Pearce has also been observed looking down from the balcony of the McLeod Hall.

Reports of light anomalies, disembodied voices, poltergeist activity, footsteps, and full apparitions have been circulating, leaving many to wonder if there's more to this place than meets the eye.

During previous investigations at The Pearce Institute, Paranormal Scotland Ltd has encountered various light anomalies, disembodied voices, disembodied footsteps, poltergeist activity and trigger objects that seem to move on their own.
