Parveens @ Clydeside Commons
Parveens Kitchen & Merchant City Festival brings together six artists celebrating the sounds of the African, SWANA and South Asian diasporas through a day of genre-spanning DJ sets.
From Maghreb rhythms and UK bass to Afrobeat, highlife, Congolese rumba, hip hop, R&B and SWANA club sounds, the line-up showcases artists whose practices are rooted in community, culture and connection.
Featuring Glasgow-based collectives and selectors Parveens, Luna Issa, Sangoma, Obiageli, DJ Dakilei and Jurnalist, the programme reflects the Glasgow's rich cultural landscape through eclectic selections that cross borders, generations and genres.
Expect everything from Zulu mbaqanga, kwela and Angolan semba to UKG, jungle, experimental hip hop and global club music.
