Pete ‘the Street’ Brown - Glasgow Paintings
Join us for an event with Pete 'the Street' Brown in conversation with Gareth James, Museum Manager of GoMA, also featuring the launch of Pete’s latest publication, Glasgow Paintings.
Pete 'the Street' first started properly painting Glasgow when he went to the Gallery of Modern Art for Banksy’s Cut & Run exhibition in 2023, which included a section of his paintings of Banksy’s Valentine’s Day Mascara. Pete fell in love with the city and has since been a regular fixture on Glasgow’s streets painting scenes from across the city.
Peter Brown is a Bath-based artist, an all-weather painter of street scenes and city landscapes. Known for working directly from his subject, he is affectionately known as ‘Pete the Street’.
Gareth James has been the Museum Manager of the Gallery of Modern Art for over a decade and has helped bring Pete’s work into Glasgow Museums’ permanent collection.
