Steve Reich The Desert Music (46’)

Colin Currie Conductor
Ian Dearden Sound Designer

I am wide awake: the mind is listening. There’s a reason why Steve Reich is a living legend - he’s the composer who broke music down to its raw elements and then rebuilt it, transforming the way we listen. Scottish percussion superstar Colin Currie leads a dancing, shimmering salute to a true icon, including the mind-expanding 1983 epic The Desert Music. Experience minimalism taken to the maximum: the sounds that made our century, in all their power, rhythm and beauty.
