As Hitler’s armies surrounded the city of Leningrad, Dmitri Shostakovich composed his Seventh Symphony - a shout of courage, defiance and victory, written for massed battalions of musicians. Brace yourself for wartime drama on a heroic scale as Bassem Akiki conducts the mighty RSNO in this sonic blockbuster: the climax of a concert that begins with Copland’s showstopping fanfare and stars a real RSNO favourite, violinist Philippe Quint, in a violin concerto with a dazzling difference.

Subscriptions - Restoration Fund Information

For customers buying a seasonal subscription, classical concerts in the 2026:27 Season will carry a restoration fund of 75 pence per ticket.

For any additional concerts during 2026:27, whether bought in a separate transaction or along with a season subscription, the standard £1.50 restoration fund per ticket will apply.
