Sonica: Improvisation on Four Sequences - Suzanne Ciani

Part of Sonica Glasgow 2026

Scottish debut

Five times Grammy-nominated composer Suzanne Ciani has been a pillar of the electronic music community since the 1970s, but this is her first ever Scottish appearance. Dubbed the ‘first female synth hero’, she has scored video games, ads and films, and released several records. Improvisation on Four Sequences goes back to basics, and to the Buchla synthesiser Ciani loves. From its analogue sounds she spins sequences that reveal and revel in the history of electronic music, from the earliest textures of musique concrète to the floor-filling beats of today’s dance music, taking her audience on a true journey through sound.

There will be a post-show talk with Suzanne Ciani following her performance
