Special Collections Display - the Dark Fairy Tales of Arthur Rackham
The Special Collections department at The Mitchell Library presents The Dark
Fairy Tales of Arthur Rackham, a display of books and images that celebrates
one of the greatest children’s book illustrators of all time. Alice in
Wonderland, Peter Pan, Gulliver’s Travels; so many of the classics that we
know and love today were artfully illustrated by Rackham in his signature pen
and watercolour style, inspired by the Pre-Raphaelites, Arts and Crafts
Movement, and Art Nouveau.
Come and discover more about Arthur Rackham and our
treasured Children’s Collection in the level 5 foyer at the Mitchell Library!
