The Koln Concert (1975) — Riccardo Atanasio, piano
Be transported to Keith Jarrett's legendary Köln Concert, as Riccardo Atanasio performs his meticulous transcription of the iconic 1975 improvisation, live in Glasgow's oldest building.
The Koln Concert is the best-selling solo piano album in history, with its four improvised movements drawing from jazz, gospel and classical music, dissolving the boundaries between them. Riccardo Atanasio, an Italian pianist who graduated with the highest honours from the Conservatorio di Vicenza under Marco Tezza, has made a transcription of the complete recording and performs it here in full.
The performance runs approximately 80 minutes without interval and is part of Cathedral Keys 2026: vibrant talent for glowing summer evenings.
