TMSA Young Trad Tour
_Celtic Connections proudly presents the TMSA Young Trad Tour & Young Champions_
A concert featuring winners & finalists of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year Competition from 2025 and 2024.
For over 20 years, the Traditional Music & Song Association of Scotland (TMSA) have been bringing together these groups of outstanding young musicians to create a unique mix of new material and innovative arrangements of traditional tunes & songs.
Participants are: 2025 winner: Ellie Beaton (Voice, Aberdeenshire); Clelland Shand (Accordion, Fife); Laura Penman (Clarsach, Edinburgh); Miguel Girão (Guitar - Portugal/Scotland); Noah Scott (Piano - France/Scotland); Roo Geddes (Fiddle, Glasgow).
The support in the first half of the concert is a snapshot of up-and-coming artists who have featured recently as ‘Young Champions’ in TMSA competitions and events around Scotland. This is part of the TMSA celebrating its 60th anniversary of its founding in 1966!
Celebrated multi-instrumentalist, Innes Watson, is leading on musical co-ordination of the concert.
