Acclaimed English folk songwriter Reg Meuross brings Fire & Dust: A Woody Guthrie Story to Glasgow, a powerful journey through the life, music and activism of one of folk music’s most influential voices. Combining original songs, storytelling and rich acoustic instrumentation, Meuross traces Guthrie’s legacy with warmth, insight and social conscience. Commissioned and co-produced by Pete Townshend, the project explores themes of justice, resilience and equality that remain strikingly relevant today.
Supporting the evening are East Anglian multi-instrumentalists Christina Alden and Alex Patterson, whose finely crafted songs and instrumental interplay provide the perfect opening to this celebration of folk music’s enduring storytelling tradition.
