Sitting With the Stars
Once the city with more screens per head than any other city in the world, going to the pictures was a way of life for Glaswegians. Focusing on the cinemas of Sauchiehall Street, the display covers the ephemera that made up everyday cinemagoing - from box office to projection booth.
With extensive research and materials from local cinema historian, Bren MacNeil, and mechanical equipment from Projected Picture Trust (Scotland) the display features newspaper listings, tickets, film stock, posters, projection equipment, pictures and more.
The display is at Edward House, 199 Sauchiehall Street.
